We have 12 in-patient stables and an additional isolation unit where our dedicated 24 hour nursing staff, under close veterinary supervision, take excellent care of our in-patients until they are ready to leave.
Horses may need to stay here with us for a number of reasons:
(i) After most surgery close professional observation and care will be needed until recovery is sufficient to allow return home
(ii) Intensive medical treatment is best managed under these conditions when frequent dosage or intra-venous fluids are needed
(iii) When close professional observation is needed to reach a diagnosis with a difficult problem.
One of the major benefits of having these facilities at the practice is that owners can readily visit their horses during their stay with us. This is both convenient and beneficial to recovery.
We use deep shavings beds and feed only the best quality, low dust meadow hay. All horses are groomed daily and we stock a wide range of horse feeds to maintain dietary continuity when your horse is hospitalised.
