Poor Performance Evaluations and Lameness Examinations

We have a number of experienced veterinary surgeons who concentrate on poor performance and lameness evaluations. An initial examination can be carried out at your yard, after which further diagnostics may be performed.

In some circumstances, we may require your horse to come into the clinic to evaluate their gait on different surfaces and allow more time-consuming investigations to be performed more thoroughly and efficiently. We have a purpose-built arena for ridden evaluations and excellent facilities for trotting up and lunging.

The vet is likely to start with regional anaesthesia (nerve or joint blocks) to locate the source of the problem followed by one or more types of diagnostic imaging.  We aim to provide a holistic treatment approach by working closely with your farrier, physio, trainer and other paraprofessionals.
