The RCVS accreditation is a voluntary assessment carried out every four years to ensure we meet the highest standards of veterinary care including hygiene, 24-hour emergency cover, medication controls, staff training, equipment and procedures. This is a voluntary initiative, however we believe all practices should adhere to these standards.
The RCVS regulates the veterinary and nursing professions in the UK. The practice standards scheme was relaunched in 2015 with a fresh emphasis on a strong culture of continuous improvement and greater focus on positive outcomes for patients and clients, rather than just ticking boxes on premises and equipment.
The assessment is based on a detailed review of our processes and documentation as well as thorough interviews with team members to assess how these processes are implemented. For more information about what this means for you please see our practice standards page or the RCVS website.
